Zhengyi Huang, hailing from Shenzhen, China, is a distinguished pianist who has achieved remarkable success in both his academic and performance careers. He completed two Master of Music degrees in piano performance and chamber music at the University of Michigan, studying under Professor Logan Skelton and receiving full-tuition scholarships. Currently, Zhengyi is the sole piano candidate in the prestigious Artist Diploma program at Rice University, where he studies under Jon Kimura Parker, a Leeds International Competition First Prize Winner, again under a full-tuition scholarship.

In the past two years, Zhengyi has amassed an impressive list of competition victories. His accolades include first prizes in the Marian Garcia Piano Competition and Grand Junction Concerto Competition, where he was also the audience favorite. Other notable achievements include second place in the MTNA-Steinway Young Artist National Final, first place in the Rosamond Haeberle Piano Award Competition in Michigan, and top prizes in several international competitions including the Concours Européen de Piano in Paris and the Amadeus International Competition in Italy.

Zhengyi recently performed three concerts with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra in Colorado and with the Richardson Symphony in Texas, where he played Rachmaninoff Piano Concerti. His performances have also been recognized with full tuition fellowships from prestigious festivals such as the Piano Texas International Festival, Rebecca Penneys Festival, and Gilmore International Festival.

In the fall of 2023, Zhengyi captivated over 100,000 live listeners during a feature on Classical King-FM’s broadcast. Looking ahead, he is scheduled to give solo recitals, teach masterclasses, and perform concerti in notable venues such as Las Vegas’s Smith Center for the Performing Arts, Oxford Performing Center in Alabama, and the Theatre du Ranelagh in Paris, where he plans to record and release an album.
