After graduating with excellence in piano performance from the conservatory in her native Israel, Ms. Hak pursued further studies at the Hartt and Manhattan Schools of Music on full scholarship. After an apprenticeship as coach/pianist with the Merola Opera program at San Francisco Opera, she joined the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera and the Metropolitan Opera music staff as one of its youngest members, serving as assistant conductor and coach.

In 2000 she was invited by Plàcido Domingo to join Los Angeles Opera’s music staff as coach and pianist on a variety of productions. In addition, Ms. Hak has worked with the company’s Outreach and Education Department as pianist and Music Director. Additional credits include Seattle Opera, Opera Cleveland, Spoleto Festival, The New Israeli Opera and Semperoper, Dresden.

She accompanied recitalists in such venues as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York’s Town Hall, on NPR, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy.

Ms. Hak has been the Music Director of UCLA Opera Studio since 2004, and a lecturer and coach with the USC Thornton School of Music since 2000.
