The career of Taiwanese-American pianist, conductor, singer and television personality Jeffery Ou has taken him to 5 U.S. states and 3 countries. He is frequently engaged as a performer throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and beyond, by organizations including Serenata Strings, Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth and the Mu Phi Epsilon Concert Series. He has taught masterclasses at the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. In extremely high demand as a collaborative pianist, he is on the roster of the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest (UT Austin) and Collin County Young Artist Competition (Plano Symphony Orchestra). In 2009, at the age of 18, he stormed onto the world stage as a contestant on season 4 of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” advancing to the Top 48 Quarterfinals and Top 20 Semifinals as one of the youngest participants to do so that year. His brief but remarkable television career resulted in a large number of prestigious honors, including the establishment of “Jeffery Ou Day” in the city of Carrollton, Texas and the receipt of the “Key to the City” of Balch Springs, Texas, both granted through then-mayors of the respective cities. Additionally, he received extensive, worldwide media coverage, including NBC, Carrollton Leader, Dallas Morning News, Dallas Chinese Times, Counterpoint Magazine (UNT), NextStep Magazine, Voyage Dallas Magazine and CCTV (China). He was invited to appear on DIFFA 2010 (hosted by Queen Latifah at Winspear Opera House) and to engage as a sponsored promoter for the YOUNG CHANG brand of pianos. He is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, Golden Key International Honour Society, Alpha Chi National College Scholarship Honor Society and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. In Europe, he holds diplomas in art song and opera from the Sankt Goar International Music Academy in Germany and is an alumnus of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. In the United States, he is a graduate of the world-renowned College of Music at the University of North Texas, where he received his Master of Music as well as Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance as an Emerald Eagle Distinguished Scholar. He is currently enrolled in the selective Graduate Certificate in Performance program at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he is a scholarship student of Dr. John Solomons.
