Giancarlo Llerena is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music Degree at The Juilliard School and has been playing piano for over 11 years. An avid performer, he has played at many prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall, the Kravis Center, the New World Center, the Breakers, Tanglewood Theatre, several Steinway Halls, select venues at the Aspen Music Festival, and also performed for the 2019 Martha-Mary/Yamaha Concert Series in Miami. In 2019, Giancarlo was a winner of the National YoungArts Competition, the Pathfinder Scholarship Award, and the Arts For Life Scholarship Award, presented by former Florida governor, Jeb Bush. He has also attended the Tanglewood Institute, the Aspen Music Festival, and participated in the 2018 PBCMTA Scholarship Awards Competition (1st place), the FFMC Junior Convention (1st place), the Pompano Beach Piano Competition (1st place), the MMTA Scholarship Competition (1st place), the 2018 Steinway & Sons Jr. Piano Competition (1st place), the concerto competitions at the Greater Miami Youth Symphony (1st place) and at Dreyfoos School of the Arts (1st place), and more. At Juilliard, Giancarlo is studying with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Julian Martin.
