Carmine Catalano was born on 10th October 1995 in Beneveto (Italy). He started playing classical guitar while attending middle school. in 2008, he enrolled at the “Nicola Sala” Conservatory (Beneveto) in Mº Paolo Lambiase’s guitar class and obtained his soloist diploma in 2017 with the highest marks, honors and special mention. He attended Masterclasses with Lorenzo Micheli, Pavel Steidl, Carlo Marchione, Carles Trepat, Giampaolo Bandini, Mario Fragnito, and Douglas James among others. He improved his solo guitar studies attending as an ordinary student the yearly guitar Masterclass of Mº Christian Saggese in Beneveto’s Conservatory and his chamber music studies under the guidance of Lambiase Viti Guitar Duo at the European Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AEMAS) in Naples.

He was awarded the first prize as a soloist and as a chamber music player in several guitar competitions (Eurokids International Art contest for young talents 2012, Concorso Internazionale Giovani Musiciti “Luigi Denza” 2013, Concoso Internazionale Città di Airola 2014, Concorso Internazionale “Napolinova” 2015). In 2015 he opened in the “Nicola Sala” Conervatory Mº Angelo Gilardino’s lecture about “XX century concertos for guitar and orchestra”. In the years 2017 and 2018 was selected to take part as an active student in the “Internazionale Sommerakademie” of the University Mozarteum of Salzburg (Austria) under the guidance of Eliot Fisk and Zaira Meneses. Here he has been selected to play as a young concert artist in the student concerts held in Weiner Sall (Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg) and Schloss Höch (Flachau).

He also holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of Sannio (Italy). He’s currently based in Innsbruck (Austria).
