Amberlee grew up in a family that surrounded her with music from the day she was born. As she grew up, she would watch as her parents would sing together in church who were also very musical people. At the age of six, her parents placed her in piano lessons, and even though it was a rocky road, it led her to the musician she is today with her voice. In high school, she participated in choirs, show-choirs, and musicals, leading her to pursue a degree in music at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

During her undergraduate degree at Mary Hardin-Baylor, Amberlee studied privately under Guy Wilson. She participated in choir, Opera/Musical Theatre Ensemble, as well as a small Opera ensemble that performed Children’s Operas. Throughout her time there, she was given the opportunity to perform numerous shows, including playing Barbarina in “The Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart, and later playing Laeticia in “The Old Maid and the Thief” by Menotti. She also participated in 2 Broadway Revues, one that was Rodgers & Hammerstein themed, and another including music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. For these shows, she was under the direction of world renown opera singer, George Hogan, and his wife, Penny. During her time in college, she had the opportunity to travel to Canada to perform as well as participate in a Masterclass with MET opera singer, Richard Margison. Amberlee has rigorously studied the diction of languages, including Italian, German, French, Spanish, and Latin. It was also in college where she met her husband, Greggory, who is also a music educator.

She has a strong love and passion for performing and listening to music but instead chose to continue her musical path by pursuing a Master of Music Therapy at Texas Women’s University.
