Katrina Cheng, a talented multi-instrumentalist born in 2013, is quickly emerging as a versatile musician. Now nearly 11 years old, she has already dedicated eight years to mastering the violin, studying under the expert guidance of Marissa Murphy. Katrina's musical skills extend beyond the violin, and for the past two years, she has been honing her skills in classical singing and piano under the tutelage of Renee Delescavage.

Katrina's talent has been recognized in various prestigious competitions. She secured first place in the Elite Music Competition in both 2023 and 2024 for violin. In the 2023 American Protege International Piano and String Competition, she achieved second place, and she was awarded first place and Exceptional Young Talent Special Prize at the 2022 Golden Classical Music Awards. Furthermore, Katrina triumphed at the 2022 King’s Peak International Music Competition and the 2021 International Music Competition “Rome” Grand Prize Virtuoso, both times taking first place.

As a result of Katrina’s competition successes, one of her most notable performances was at the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, New York where she performed "Meditation" from Thaïs at 8 years old. In addition to her solo pursuits, she has been a part of the Maryland Classical Youth Orchestra since 2019. Her roles in the orchestra have evolved over time, from Associate Concertmaster in 2020-2021 to Concertmaster in 2021-2022, and she currently plays in the first violin section.

Apart from her musical pursuits, Katrina is also passionate about dancing.
