Kyle Zhu (13) currently studies with Dr. Julia Lam in New Jersey. He began playing the piano at the age of five.
Kyle has won top prizes in various music competitions, including First Prize in the Eleventh Camerata Artists International Competition (Solo Performance Category), First Prize in the 2024 NJMTA Young Musician Competition (Solo Category), and First Prize in the MEA Annual Piano Competition in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024. Additionally, he earned a Gold Prize in the 2023 VIVO International Music Competition, a Grand Prize in the 4th APEX International Music Competition, and First Prizes in the 2022 and 2023 NJMTA Young Musician Competition (Duet Category). Earlier achievements include a Gold Prize in the 2018 IMPACT Young Artist Competition and First Place in the Elite International Music Competition.
Through his piano journey, Kyle has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and the DiMenna Center. He has also participated in numerous masterclasses with accomplished pianists, including Kate Liu and Victor Rosenbaum.
Outside of piano, Kyle enjoys playing the alto saxophone, reading, carpentry, playing tennis, and working on his 3D printers.
