Olivia Cai

Olivia Cai, a senior at Marriotts Ridge High School in Maryland, is an accomplished violinist whose musical journey began at the age of eight under the tutelage of Ronald Mutchnik. Her exceptional talent has garnered recognition and accolades, including winning the Frederick Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition. Olivia has also received awards in other prestigious competitions such as the MTNA Maryland Senior Performance Competition and the Columbia Orchestra Concerto Competition.

As a dedicated orchestral violinist, Olivia has been an active member of the Maryland All State Orchestra since 2019. In 2021, she proudly served as concertmaster, leading the ensemble with her musical prowess. Currently, Olivia holds the esteemed position of associate concertmaster in the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra.

In 2021, Olivia had the privilege of participating in the Bowdoin International Music Festival. Furthermore, she was selected to be part of the National Youth Orchestra's NYO2 program in 2023.

In addition to violin, Olivia is an experienced pianist, which she has been playing since the age of four. Her dedication to piano led to her achievement of the Licentiate of Trinity College London piano performance diploma in 2022.

Outside of her musical pursuits, Olivia finds joy in reading and spending time outdoors, nurturing her curiosity and appreciation for the world around her.
