Kate Takemoto

Biography

Kate Takemoto is an accomplished violinist who began her musical studies at the age of six. She is currently a student at Horace Mann School and the Juilliard Pre-College, where she studies violin under the guidance of Dr. Ann Setzer and Khullip Jeung. Kate is also a member of the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, performing regularly alongside fellow pre-college musicians.

Kate has received numerous accolades throughout her musical journey. In 2025, she was named the New York State Winner for Senior String Performance in the Music Teachers National Association Competition. She also earned First Place at the New York Young Virtuoso Competition and the American Protégé International Romantic Music Competition. In 2024, Kate received First Place and the Bronze Award at the Bellagrande International Music Competition. Her earlier achievements include First Place at the Rondo Young Artists Festival and both Grand Prize Runner-up and First Place at the Camerata Artists International Concerto Competition.
