Timothy Yang is 13 years old and began the study of piano and music at the age of 4.  He has been studying with Dustin Gledhill at the Gledhill Arts Collective since he was 6 years old.  Timothy is a four time US National Gold Medalist from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). He has been invited to play at Carnegie Hall three times, and was invited to play at RCM’s Celebration of Excellence Concert in 2020 and 2021. He has completed level 10 in the RCM program, and plans to earn his associates diploma (ARCT), by sitting for the ARCT Performer’s exam in spring of 2023. 

He recently participated in master classes held by the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans (MASNO), and won a scholarship from the 2022 New Orleans Piano Institute. In 2021, he won 2nd place in his category at the New Orleans Piano Institute International Competition held by the MASNO. This December 2022, Timothy placed third in the Bohemians Young Artists Piano Competition held by The Bohemians: New York Musicians’ Club.

In addition to being an accomplished performer, Timothy is also an avid music history and theory scholar, having completed the RCM’s History, Harmony and Analysis program through the ARCT level with First Class Honors with Distinction. Outside of music, Tim enjoys golf, listening to jazz, and holds a brown belt in Aikido.
