Violinist Yugo Maeda, age 9, began his violin studies in his native Japan. Upon his arrival in America, he joined the studio of Gail Gerding Mellert. In 2020, Yugo has been a prize winner of the Los Angeles chapter of ASTA competition, and recently has garnered top prizes in the Satori Summer Music Festival, (Grand Prize and Audience Award), Elite International Music Competition, (First Prize), Crescendo International Music Competition, (First Prize), and VIVO International Music Competition, (First Prize and perfect score).Yugo was featured on the Violinist.com “Gilharmonic” broadcast in masterclass with Gil Shaham and also performed in masterclass with violinist, Stefan Jackiw. He has recently performed in a YouTube performance with Jazz pianist, David Benoit. Yugo is one of the youngest members of American MENSA.
