Ethan Mathias is a 15-year-old actor, singer, musician, and dancer originally from Michigan and now based in New York City. He is a student in the Precollege Division at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studies voice with Chris York and Giuseppe Spolentini as a Maitland Peters and Karen Beardsley Precollege Endowed Voice Scholarship recipient.
Ethan’s theatrical credits include The Last Boy (Ralph) in both Off-Broadway and Broadway benefit performances, School of Rock (Lawrence) at Tuacahn Amphitheatre, and Matilda Jr. (Trunchbull) with Broadway Workshop. He has also appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar, Runaway Princess, and On Golden Pond, among others.
His on-camera work includes lead roles in Teenage Waistband, Curtain Call, Shocking Backpack, Curls, and Homework. He recently filmed Miracle on Christmas for Amazon Streaming and Evil Lives Here for Discovery Networks.
Ethan’s training includes acting with James Ciccone, Michelle Aravena, and Rance Wright; voiceover with Tony Gonzales and Dikaeim Lyons; and piano with Josh Zimmerman at Berklee College of Music. As a dancer, he has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre styles through Joffrey Ballet and Dance Molinari.
In 2024, Ethan was selected as a Junior Fellow at the Eugene O’Neill Cabaret & Performance Conference and participated in the Songbook Academy with Michael Feinstein. This spring, he will debut his solo cabaret show at Don’t Tell Mama in New York City.
Fluent in Spanish and passionate about languages, Ethan is also an advanced pop and jazz pianist. He is represented by Rebel Creative Group and Take 3 Talent.
