Mariam Loladze-Meredith is a British-Georgian pianist and recent graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied under Ian Jones as an Alida Johnson Award Holder. During her time at RCM, she also received mentorship from esteemed pianists Sofya Gulyak, Dinara Klinton, and Danny Driver. Prior to her conservatory studies, Mariam spent ten years at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, where she studied with Dina Parakhina. While at Chetham’s, she won the Concerto Competition twice, performing with the school’s orchestras, and earned first prizes in both the Yamaha and Beethoven Competitions. She was also awarded prizes at the International Chopin Festival in Mazovia, Poland on two occasions.
Mariam has performed at renowned venues across Europe, including Steinway Hall in London, the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, and Teatro Maggiore in Verbania, Italy. She has participated in masterclasses with leading artists such as Michel Beroff, Pavel Nersessian, Boris Berman, Eteri Andjaparidze, and Boris Giltburg.
A notable highlight in her early career was being named a Category Finalist in BBC Young Musician 2018. She later received a prize in the 2021 Royal College of Music Concerto Competition and was awarded the Bronze Medal in the 2023 Appelbe Piano Competition.
This year, Mariam will continue her studies as a Master's student at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where she will study with Sofya Gulyak.
