Papitcha Vejmongkolkorn is a 14-year-old pianist from Thailand whose musical journey began at the age of three and a half with the Yamaha Music School. She is currently a music scholar at Wellington College International School Bangkok and studies under Dr. Pornphan Bantenghansa and Dr. Christopher Janwong McKiggan at the Piano Academy of Bangkok.
Papitcha has received recognition in numerous international and national competitions. Recent achievements include the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2024 International Piano Competition for Young Artists in the Netherlands, First Prize at the 2024 Music Singapore International Competition, and a concerto performance as part of the 2023 Thomas F. Hulbert International Piano Competition. She was also a prizewinner at the 5th WPTA Finland International Piano Competition and received the Silver Medal at the Seattle International Piano Festival and Competition in 2019, where she was invited to perform at Benaroya Hall.
In addition to her competition accolades, Papitcha is an active performer. She has appeared in concerts and recitals across Asia, including Piano Concerto Sensation with the Thai Youth Orchestra, the Youth Pianists Recital in Malaysia, and a joint recital presented by the Chiangmai Philharmonic Orchestra. In April 2024, she was invited by Steinway Thailand to become the first young pianist to experience the Steinway Spirio | Cast technology performing a virtual duet with a Young Steinway Artist in Shanghai.
