•Category 2

Kerstin Barth is a 16-year-old soprano from Plano, Texas, whose lifelong love of music has played a central role in her artistic development. Over the past two years, she has studied voice under the guidance of Monica Leone.
Kerstin has earned “Exemplary” ratings at UIL Solo and Ensemble contests each year since 7th grade and has been a committed member of the Texas All-Region Choir from 2021 through 2025. This year, she reached a major milestone by advancing to the area level as an All-State contender. Notable performances include selections such as Sehnsucht, Unwritten, and Lacrimosa at the Robinson Fine Arts Center, as well as regular school and church performances including the 2025 “Broadway Café.”
Kerstin’s passion for music began in early childhood and continues to shape the way she sees and experiences the world. She is especially drawn to music with emotional depth and meaningful storytelling, which has also fueled her growing love for musical theater. Most recently, she performed a leading role as Jane Seymour in a local production of Six the Musical, an experience that allowed her to blend her vocal ability with acting and stage presence.
Outside of music, Kerstin is a well-rounded student and athlete. She plays competitive soccer, enjoys drawing as a creative outlet, and has recently started teaching herself piano. Her academic strengths are reflected in teacher awards for commitment to learning in Algebra II, Chemistry, World History, and Geography, as well as a Superintendent’s Award for Excellence in academics.
