Lina Ruegg

Lina Ruegg, 12, is a trilingual singer and pianist with Japanese, French, and Swiss heritage. Born in Paris and currently living in Switzerland, Lina has been surrounded by music from an early age. She began rhythmique classes at just two years old, started piano lessons at four, and has studied voice for the past two years. She currently studies voice with Ari Muto, a former singer of the Takarazuka Revue company.

Lina’s performances are notable for her expressive stage presence and theatrical flair. She often accompanies herself on piano while singing in French, English, and Japanese, and brings strong character interpretation to her work, drawing on her musical theater instincts. She regularly performs at her music school, where she sings and plays piano on stage, and has participated in her piano school’s annual concerts since the age of four.

Her talent has been recognized at the Swiss Voice Tour, the largest vocal competition in Switzerland, where she has twice been named a regional finalist. Lina is also excited to begin an intensive music course this summer, which will include voice lessons, piano chord studies, and computer-assisted music training.

A passionate listener as well as a performer, Lina counts the Japanese pop duo Yoasobi as her favorite musical inspiration. Attending their recent concert in London sparked an even deeper enthusiasm for music and performance.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Lina enjoys drawing and handcrafting. These creative outlets complement her love for performance, allowing her to express herself visually as well as musically. Her goal as a musician is simple and sincere: to make people smile through her songs.
